What’s in a name – Toni was in a blues and jazz mood when this litter was born so it became our theme. After a quick search of the top jazz songs, it couldn’t be more obvious to choose “Chasin’ the Bird”. This song (and album) was created by Charlie Parker who was a saxophonist known for his fast tempos, virtuosic technique, and improvisation. And that’s how Misty Mountain Chasin’ the Bird – Parker– was born.

Life with Parker

Parker is our favorite dog. Parker was a standout from the very beginning. She has the same looks, personality, and vertical leap as her father, Zeus, while her sister, Memphis, has her mother’s (Prada) looks and personality. But both have their mother’s gymnastic balance beam prowess on large fallen trees and Prada’s uncanny skill of finding every breach in our fence. Parker loves to retrieve and play tug and keep away with Memphis then drink water as it comes out of the hose bib. She has a lovely dense coarse coat, thick tail, and great topline. Three of her siblings (Memphis, Gibson, and Eli) will be joining her in the show ring. High hopes for Memphis and her siblings.

Accomplishments

Parker has been participating in hunt training since she was 4 months old – loves the birds! However, during her first attempt at her WC, she got hit in the face with a duck wing and was not having anything more to do with that. She’s bigger than the duck now so is having fun chasing the birds. Parker has been doing well in the show ring, exchanging places with her sister, Memphis.

Parker spent the majority of 2016 at the Warrior Canine Connection in Maryland where she had some wonderful potential future service dogs (visit and follow Parkers Patriots) to veterans in need. She was loved by WCC and WCC supporters and we cannot thank them enough for taking such good care of her. Parker will be spending the rest of 2016 with Christine Tye at Gingerbred Farms to work on her Grand Championship.
